Jorge Panduro is the founder of Terra Pointe Capital. He brings more than two decades of experience spanning structured finance, principal investing, capital markets and enterprise risk management.
Jorge began his career in Bank of America’s Global Structured Finance business, where he analyzed, structured and executed asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities transactions across a broad range of financial assets. He subsequently joined the firm’s Principal Finance business, sourcing, financing and investing in higher-yielding opportunities, including consumer asset portfolios and specialty-finance platforms.
During and following the global financial crisis, Jorge advised financial institutions and investors on complex asset valuations, acquisitions, balance-sheet restructurings and capital solutions. His work included evaluating loan, lease and structured-securities portfolios, FDIC-assisted transactions and complex financial exposures.
He later served as a senior quantitative and structuring advisor supporting the resolution of significant legacy RMBS exposures and related risk-transfer strategies, and served on the board of a captive reinsurance subsidiary established as part of the firm’s broader legacy risk-management activities.
The second half of Jorge’s career broadened that asset- and transaction-level experience to the enterprise level. In senior risk leadership roles at Bank of America, he led or oversaw enterprise stress testing, risk appetite, strategic and capital risk, and financial risk oversight spanning liquidity, interest-rate risk and the firm’s global liquidity portfolio.
In these roles, Jorge provided an independent risk perspective to senior management—challenging assumptions, evaluating alternative outcomes and assessing capital, liquidity, earnings and risk-return tradeoffs across major financial and strategic decisions.
This combination of asset-level underwriting and enterprise-level risk management forms the foundation of Terra Pointe’s approach: rigorous analysis of the economics of a financial decision, combined with an independent perspective on downside risk, critical assumptions, capital implications and the broader financial context in which that decision is made.
Jorge holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
